To Whom It May Concern: It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Ms. Karin Knapik. I have known Ms. Knapik since 2004 when I began my tenure as High School Principal and Superintendent at Uxbridge Public Schools in Uxbridge, Massachusetts. During that time I had the opportunity to work collaboratively with Karin on many initiatives. I have always found Karin to be professional and respectful in her interactions with people. Karins work ethic and dedication made her a valuable member of the Uxbridge staff. She is a team player who is always willing to assist with any task thats asked of her. In addition to these qualities, Karin is a very creative and visionary thinker. Her knowledge of technology and its positive impact on student learning is outstanding. She was frequently the catalyst for ideas to implement technology into the Uxbridge district to enhance student performance or improve administrative efficiencies. Karin served in many different roles and capacities and had a broad range of responsibilities. During her time as Director of Technology, the Uxbridge School District made significant improvements in the area of technology. Karin also served as Instructional Technology Teacher bringing her talents directly into the classroom. As a result of her enthusiasm, energy, creativity and genuine concern for students, enrollment in her classes, which were electives, increased from year to year. Karin also wrote many grants to support the districts efforts in the STEM areas. For example, she successfully acquired probes and sensors for the physics classes, simple machine kits for the elementary school and was the lead staff member who brought the FIRST Lego program to Uxbridge Middle School. She has a vast understanding and vision for technology integration, across all grades and disciplines, and staff always looked to her for support and guidance. Ms. Knapik always maintained a good working relationship with the students, faculty, staff, and administration. She is well respected by all who know and work with her. Her work ethic, concern for students, and dedication make her a successful educator and leader. I am certain that Karin will be a tremendous asset to any organization she joins.
