UNIVERSITY OF PUERTO RICO AT HUMACAO ENGLISH DEPARTMENT EDPE 4006 Practice Teaching Eliezer Morales Ruiz.

. Reflection: April 8, 2013 to April 12, 2013. This week was more unusual than I was expecting it to be. The Monday April 8, 2013, for me was going to be like every other Monday and I was ready to give my lesson. Right when I was going to begin my lesson a student announced at the door that all the nine graders had to go to the school theater for a conference about bullying as part of the school library week. So, the students went to the conference and on Tuesday, they were also going to be in the school theater for the School Theater Festival. The festival included five presentations or plays, from the five groups of the ninth grade. The students did an excellent job in their performance and display of their acting skills. On Wednesday, I went to the university for the Seminar of practice teaching. There was a rumor of a protest the last night, but in the morning everything was normal. So, on Thursday and Friday I was able to continue with my lessons in the school and working with the students essays. On Friday, right after my class, I went with my peer Celisse to the city hall of Humacao to meet with the city mayor, Hon. Marcelo Trujillo Panisse, at his office. The purpose of our visit was to present him some concerns we had related to our special project in the school community. The city mayor oriented us about the offices and people we had to contact in order to continue with our special project. He promised to help us in our mission and we will continue following up our agreements. The interview was an awesome experience as part of our practice teaching course. The mayor was very gentle and kind with us and we have great expectations about the progress of our special project.
