CALLING ALL SINGERS!! Deer Path Middle School is looking for enthusiastic, energetic singers to join the choir! Please read the following information about the DPM choir program. The DPM choir program consists of four grade level choirs that meet during the school day. Currently there are over 200 students in the choir program. Each choir will study music from a variety of cultures and time periods, as well as vocal technique, musicianship, sight-reading, music theory, and listening skills. 5th Grade Choir meets on Tuesday and Thursday during homeroom. Any student may sign-up for choir. There are no auditions, all students are encouraged to join. Each choir has two evening performances throughout the school year (December and May). These performances are the highlight of our hard work and commitment. If a student participates in choir for all four years of their stay at DPM, they will have many other performance opportunities outside of the middle school. Students will have the opportunity to take field trips to Lake Forest High School, Northwestern University, Roosevelt University, Vandercook College of Music, Chicagos Symphony Center, and Walt Disneyworld, in Orlando, Florida. Choir is an excellent way to meet new people and build friendships that last a lifetime. Anyone who is interested is encouraged to sign up!
