    Whereas,the Citydesiresto developa community for eachcitizento


    that offersan opportunity
    obtainfair housingwithoutregardto race, color,sex, religion,handicap,familialstatus or
    nationaloriginthroughfair,orderly,andlawfulprocedures;and

    Whereas, the City recognizesthat the denial of fair housingfor each citizen through
    considerations based on race, color, sex, religion, or national origin is detrimental to the health,
    safety,and welfareof the inhabitants
    of the Cityand constitutes
    an unjustdenialor deprivation
    of suchrightswhichis in the powerandproperresponsibility
    of government to prevent;and

    Whereas,the Citydesiresto affirmatively


    furtherfair housing.

    NOWTHEREFORE,
    BE IT RESOLVED
    BY THECITYCOUNCILOF THECITYOF PELICAN
    BAY:

    The Cityof PelicanBay herebyproclaimsthe monthof March,2007,as Fair HousingMonth


    and all citizensare encouraged to join activities
    designedto furtherthefair housingobjectives
    of
    TitleVlll of theCivilRightsAct of 1968,as amended.
