You should have at least junior status order to take this course. Otherwise, admission to this course is by permission of the instructor .

Readings The reader is available at Copy Central on Bancroft. There are three required books which are available at the ASUC bookstore.

Discussion Sections

Fill out a section preference card and hand it in today or Thursday. You will be notified by email by Friday, January 25th. Sections begin next week, January 29th. Section and lecture attendance is required to pass this course. Lecture and section attendance will be taken. Your GSI is not required to grade your papers if you miss more than three lectures or discussions. More than six absences results in an automatic failure.

Requirements There will be four short papers of approximately 2-3 pages in length for each paper. There is also a final exam. To pass this course, you must write all the papers and pass the final. The papers count for 60% of your grade; the final counts for 40% of your grade.

There are no incompletes given in this class. No late papers will be accepted.
