IB Exploration- Week 2 Term 1 Concept 1 of 8; Responsibility

Definition- The understanding that people make choices based on their understandings, and the actions they take as a result do make a difference.

Area 1; Consider your current unit of inquiry- Who We Are. Why is the concept of Responsibility important? Look at your central idea and think about the connection to this weeks concept.
Why Responsibility will be important during our current unit of inquiry; (Remember- these are just your initial ideas, based on your early learning in this unit)

Area 2; What do have responsibility for? When do you demonstrate this concept in action? Reflect on the different levels of responsibility in your life-for some things you are responsible only to yourself. For others, small groups rely on you. Finally, some of your responsibilities reach much larger groups. you and millions of others.
e.g. not dropping litter

Responsible to many people

e.g. following classroom agreement about working sensibly

Responsible to a larger group


e.g. brushing teeth every day

Responsible to myself only for this.
