Chapter 6 Engineering Labels of the Cabinet

6.1 Functions & Types of Cabinet Engineering Labels
Cabinet engineering labels mark and record the information of equipment location. Through these marks, maintenance personnel can easily locate the equipment concerned. The specific numberings of the labels have a one-to-one relationship with the location description in the configured data. When there is one row of cabinets, generally, the first cabinet next to the main aisle is the DC distribution cabinet, attached with the column No. label 00 on its upper enclosure frame. The second one is attached with the column number label 01. The column No. label of the third cabinet is marked with 02. It can be inferred that the column No. label of the twelfth cabinet is marked with 11. And the side panels of the cabinet are attached with the row No. labels marked with (A). When there are multiple cabinets, the side panels of the cabinets in the first row are attached with the row No. label (A). The row No. label of the second row is (B), and that of the third row is (C). In each of the cabinet, the frame is numbered from the bottom up with the sequence from 0 to 5. The cabinet engineering labels are divided into two categories:

Row number label

This is the identifier for a specific rack row.

Column number label

This is the identifier for the cabinet to distinguish itself from others in a same rack row.
