State labor/environmental coalition members will hold a town hall forum at Allen Hall, UB
South Campus to present and discuss “Green Jobs/Green Homes,” a plan to make energy
efficiency improvements to one million New York homes over the next five years at no extra cost
to homeowners.

The event is part of a statewide town hall tour to highlight a new report on Green Jobs/Green
Homes from the Center for Working Families and the Center for American Progress.

WHAT: Local Town Hall Forum on “Green Jobs/Green Homes” Initiative

WHEN: Tuesday, April 21, 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

WHERE: Allen Hall, UB South Campus

SPEAKERS: - Emmaia Gelman, Center for Working Families

- Eric Walker, PUSH

- Frank Hotchkiss, Apollo Alliance
- Nan Simpson (invited), WNY Climate Action Coalition
BACKGROUND:

The Green Jobs/Green Homes program will make New York homes energy efficient, reduce
homeowners’ energy bills, lower fossil fuel emissions, and produce approximately 60,000 quality
green jobs. The plan provides that the upfront costs of retrofit work will be paid for through
private investment and paid back through energy bill savings. Organizers of the town hall tour
are advocating for passage of a Green Jobs/Green Homes bill this legislative session.
