Oregon football alumni to host multiple youth camps

A Portland non-profit organization is putting on youth football camps this summer teaching leadership on and off the field. Oregon Football Association is scheduled to host camps in the Portland metropolitan area on May 18, May 25, June 15, June 22, July 13, July 21-22, and Aug. 3. The camps are for every level of youth football to the high school level along with specific position camps. OFA is made up of former University of Oregon football players such as Haloti Ngata, Ed Dickson, Dennis Dixon, and Casey Matthews. These players will bring their expertise and NFL experience to teach kids what it takes to be successful, but with a focus on also teaching kids the importance of leadership off the field. Ryan DePalo, former free safety for the Ducks, leads the effort to give back to the community. If we run a camp with 200 kids, thats 200 kids we can directly affect, DePalo said. But indirectly those kids can affect all their communities, and thats what we want. For specific locations and camp costs visit the OFA website (www.ofamovement.org) or email info@ofamovement.org.
