    ISO ISO 9000 series

    Standards being applied to control environmental impacts of any industrial activity & the standards for these control systems are being developed by ISO under the series ISO 14000. It was released in Dec.1996. It is now possible for industrial units to design EMS for their activities as per the requirements stipulated in the standard ISO : 14001 ; & get third party certification for the same.

    The EMS as defined in ISO 14000 is Organisational structure, responsibilities, practices, procedures, processes & resources for implementing & maintaining environmental management.

Auditing 14011- Guidelines for E.A., Audit procedures part I 14012- Qualification criteria for E. Auditors 14060- Guidance for the inclusion of E. aspects in product standards.
