Social Business 101: Empowering Social Entrepreneurs

Participants are required to complete this task and discuss with the group during review session on Day 4.

Purpose
To learn from the best practices and experiences of social entrepreneurs through observation and interaction during the study visits to selected organizations in Thailand Task 1. Review the host organizations background information attached 2. Listen, observe and interact with presenters and hosts during the study visits 3. Identify the social problems that the host business wants to address 4. Identify the business approach and strategies used to solve social problems 5. List any challenges faced by the business during start-up 6. List in bullet form the best practices in management and operation to make the business sustainable 7. Briefly say how this business model fits Prof. Yunus model

Deliverable
1. Be prepared to discuss with others during the review session on Day 3 your findings and observations in relation with the tasks given above. 2. Prepare bullet lists of your findings and print on A4 paper. Make two copies. 3. Hand in a copy to the workshop facilitators on Day 3.
