Part B

My mentors interview:
Background Knowledge How do you find out what children know before you teach a new unit or theme? Do you think this is important?

I can find out what students know before I teach a new lesson by asking them several questions and creating a positive discussion through having students brainstorm their ideas and thoughts to know their prior knowledge.
ICT Environment How do you create an environment that promotes ICT?

By using data shows for teaching and using tasks that has multimedia resources. Moreover, I always use different engagement activities that can catch students attention and get them interested in the lesson such as videos and animated moving pictures.
How have you designed your room to encourage children to use ICT?

By creating and designing the classroom with interactive displays that allow the children to interact effectively and gain new knowledge. Furthermore, I allow the students to use the social networking to make the learning enjoyable.
How much of the day is spent on ICT

I have from 3 to 4 lessons a day

Could you describe a typical ICT hour?

A typical ICT hour can be spent by creating a meaningful engagement at the beginning of the lesson to have the students get involved in the lesson. Moreover, generating discussions could improve students knowledge and scaffold their learning. Another important way of creating a typical ICT hour is having a constant assessment. This would help the teacher to know students levels and to set some ways to improve the teaching strategies.
