Assess overall health condition of the client. Assess patient for infection. Obtain complete blood count exams. Assess patient for hypersensitivity to medication. Obtain doctors orders.

*hypersensitivity *previous pseudo membranous colitis *severe liver impairment *diarrhea *known alcoholic intolerance

DURING:
Perform the 15 rights of drug administration. Monitor for bowel elimination.

AFTER: Educated client and


significant others of the client the importance of compliance of medication. Instruct client and significant other to report immediately if any adverse effects occur. Instruct patient and significant others that the medication that the client will take must be taken. round the clock at evenly spaced times and to finish the drug completely. Document all relevant findings accordingly.
