EXPERIENCING GOD’S VICTORIES

2 Samuel 8
Everybody wants to win. We want to be victorious! In the Bible, God enabled His people to experience victories. Like
King David for example. David experienced God’s victory and a look into some of the principles from God’s words
would lead us there. How did David experienced it? How can we experience it?

Take Action (vv.1-6)

The successes of today did not happen by chance. Somebody did what they have to do. Somebody acted. After God
gave His promises to David in chapter 7, David acted on it and “The Lord gave him victory wherever he went. If you
act upon God’s words you will experience His victory in His appointed time. Stop whining, stop talking – start acting!

Honor God (7-12)

As David experienced victories, he never failed to give back the glory to God. Thanksgiving is a wonderful attitude. It
is the will of God (1 Thess. 5:18). The more we show Him our gratitude, the more He pours His blessings to us. The
best thing that anyone can do is to thank Him by honouring Him in their lives.

Do what is Right & Just (15)

“David reigned over all Israel, doing what was just and right.” I believe David’s successful rule in Israel so far was
connected to how he ruled- in righteousness and justice. God loves righteousness and justice. If you want to
experience God’s victories in your life then do what pleases Him.

I want to experience God’s victory in my life and I believe you also do. So let’s ask the Lord to lead us towards
experiencing His victory today by applying the principles in His words. May we experience it today!
