    June 12, 2013 Dear Palliative/Hospice Peer: A number of hospice and palliative nurses in this area (mainly from

    Childrens of Alabama and UAB Palliative Care) have expressed an interest in organizing a Hospice and Palliative Nurse Association (HPNA) Provisional Group (PG) with the hope of becoming a chartered chapter of HPNA in the next 15 months. A local group would provide an opportunity for education, networking, peer support and a variety of other possibilities. At this time, I am trying to determine how many people would be interested in knowing more about our group and hopefully, joining us for a meeting on Thursday, June 27th, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. If you have a hospice/palliative colleague that might be interested, please ask them to attend with you. A meal will be provided for you (and an interested colleague) if you RSVP to Lynn.Vaughn@childrensal.org by Tuesday, June 25th.

    Where? Childrens Hospital of Alabama Harbor Building, 4th Floor 1600 7th Avenue South Birmingham, Alabama 35233 Park in the 5th Avenue Parking Deck. Tell parking attendant you are attending the HPNA meeting. After parking, go to 2nd Floor and ask Security for directions to the Harbor. We look forward to meeting you!!!
