KODAIKANAL The hill station Kodaikanal was created to serve the needs of the British and Europeans in India from 1821. Kurinji Andavar temple It is dedicated to Lord Muruga , is situated 3 Kms from the lake. This temple is associated with the kurinji flowers that bloom once in 12 years. Kurinji means the hill region in Tamil literature - Andavar means the God. Telescope House is there on Coakers walk.

Green valley view is 5.5 Km from the lake. This is once known as Suicide point Pillar Rocks : Three boulders stand here shoulder to shoulder, vertically measuring 122 m providing majestic sight. This is located 7.4 Km from the lake. Moer Point : Lovely view of the valley. 3 Km from the Piller Rock. Silent Valley view is just away from Piller Rock.
