Title of the Project: Technology Abstract: (Write within 250 words) Efficient Algorithms for Topology Control Problem with Routing Cost Constraints in Wireless Networks Wireless Networks The topology of a wireless network is an especially important factor to influence the performance of the network in terms of broadcasting, scheduling of transmission, and routing. On the other hand, some network links cannot benefit to packet routing and may even introduce redundancy and collisions in a network. Thus, many researchers focus on removing such kind of useless topology Information from a network which is called topology control or topology management. It is believed that topology control can dramatically improve a networks broadband utilization and delivery ratio, extend network lifetime, and reduce interference as well as packet retransmission. Thus topology control plays as a vital factor to a wireless networks efficiency. A Connected Dominating Set(CDS) can be a useful basis of a backbone topology construction. Here a special CDS, named Minimum routing Cost CDS (-MOC-CDS),is analyzed to improve the performance of CDS based broadcasting and routing. wireless network applications such as broadcasting and routing
