Cursor Movement

You can use your mouse to click anywhere you want to go in your Word document. But sometimes it is handier to use the keyboard to move around. Here are some ways to use the keyboard to move the insertion point: 1. One character left... 2. One character right... 3. One line up... 4. One line down... 5. Previous word... 6. Next word... 7. Top of the screen... 8. Top of the next page... 9. Beginning of the document... 10. End of the document... 11. Beginning of the line... 12. End of the line... Press the left arrow key. Press the right arrow key. Press the up arrow key. Press the down arrow key. Press CTRL + the left arrow key. Press CTRL + the right arrow key. Press CTRL + the Page Up key. Press CTRL + the Page Down key. CTRL + the Home key. CTRL + the End key. Press the Home key. Press the End key.

Editing Symbols
- A line with a loop after it means: delete the word. - A cursive lc stands for "lower case". Change the case from upper to lower. - A carrot means: insert the letter or word shown close to the carrot. - A triple underline means: make the letter upper case. - A backwards P with a double stem means: begin a new paragraph.

The Three Basic Types of Font Faces


A serif font face has lines, curves, or edges extending from the ends of the letter. A sans serif font face is straight edged. A script font face looks like handwriting.
