Background : Distal radius fractures are very common. In fact, the radius is the
most commonly broken bone in the arm. The break usually
happens in traffic accident, and similar situations like a simple
falls, known as FOOSH” (fall onto outstretched hands).
Osteoporosis (decreased density of the bones) can make a
relatively minor fall result in a broken wrist. Many distal radius
fractures in people older than 50 years of age are caused by a fall
from a standing position.

Method : During January 2004 until December 2008, 72 persons with acute
distal radius fracture were recorded and we analysis with
retrospectif method.

Results : 72 persons recorded with among the case insidence rate on man
increase rapidly from 52 cases (72.2%) than woman on 20 cases
(33.3%). 2 cases on age younger than 10 years (2.7%), 15 cases on
age 10-20 years (20.8%), 18 cases on age 20-30 years (25%), 20
cases on age 30-40 years (27.7%), 6 cases between 40-50 years
(8.3%), 11 cases on age older than 50 years (15.2%). 45 cases
recorded as a traffic accident (62.5%), 22 cases come from
workplace accident (30.5%), 5 cases recorded by the minor injury
(6.9%). 8 cases is purely the distal radius fracture (11.1%), and 64
cases is accompanied with distal ulna fracture (88.9%). 18 cases
direcly get therapy at 6 hours after the injury (25%), 42 cases get
more longer than 6 hours to get therapy (75%). 33 cases get
treatment at the hospital (45.8%), and 39 cases decide to get
traditional treatment (54.2%).

Conclusion : More cases recorded increas on man than a woman, cases

accompanied with traffic accident and the relation with
mobilitation pruductivity. The traditional treatment have a higher
