NON MONSOON/ MICRO CLIMATIC WINDS

The plan of the building was one that was shaped from the existing building given footprint of the project, which was very long and narrow. The building and its orientation is facing the south with its long faade and encouraging the reception of solar light . The window area on the south faade was designed to have the optimal amount of natural day lighting enter the building as required by GBCSL. The existing building will remain only the structural elements and narrow plan form allows natural cross ventilation. The building envelopes has created pockets to create positive and negative pressure zones around the building to enhance cross ventilation. The roof top is covered with photovoltaic panels and is designed at 7degree angle to South to get the maximum efficiency of the PV. The half of roof is used to collect rainwater and stored as a infinite pool/ whilst acting as a cooling pond. The other striking feature on the roof is the array of wind turbines, which align with the column grid and create linearity from a distance. The north, South facades created as double skin walls with air gap which is used as circulation ramps. The circulation ramps act as wind scoops during the nonmonsoon climatic winds and circulation passages kept open creating wind corridors dividing the usable areas into segments. The building is promoted 100% natural ventilation and use of much as natural light. Building covers with a green layer which will act as a buffer of filtration and retain the air quality to into habitable level. Measures taken to prevent erosion and contamination by minimizing the site development and enhancing the irrigation and sedimentation within the site.
