teacher. He has studied guitar technique both electric and acoustic along with elements of music theory that include harmony, ear training, and composition. As a sessions guitarist he has worked in various bands and ensembles that cover a wide vareity of musical styles including rock, pop, funk, jazz, contemporary Hindi music and more.

He studied at Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music (Chennai, India), where he was awarded the General Excellence Scholarship for pursuing a diploma in performance. At the school, he studied contemporary music with a range of international faculty from The United States, Latin America and Europe, including guitar players Juancho Herrera(Venezuela), Yuri Huarez(Peru) and Prasanna (Chennai, Boston), pianist Deanna Witkowski(New York), drummers Karina Colis(Mexico) and Phil Maturano(Los Angeles) and bassist Steve Zerlin(Washington), amongst many others. Before this, he studied with renowned Delhi musicians like Mr. Gussy Rikh and Berklee College of Music alumni Aditya Balani. Adhir completed a Masters in Film Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University in 2011. Through college at Delhi University, Adhir was a part of Musoc the music society of Kirori Mal College and was the President of the group. He has been a permanent member of contemporary funk/rock band Five8 (www.five8.in) since 2006. The band is a regular act in various prime venues in the city including Hard Rock Caf, Blue Frog, Turquiose Cottage and more and launched a 6-song EP in 2010. Currently, the band is planning the release of a full-length debut album in Summer 2013. He has done sessions work with ensembles such as Artistes Unlimited, The Yellow Brick Project, Adil and Vasundhara and was the guitarist for Pakistani-duo Zeb and Haniya at their concert in New Delhi at the South Asian Bands Festival 2011. He has also been a conductor-cum-guitar instructor with Music Basti since 2008, a Delhi-based non- profit organization, working for the education and empowerment of children-at-risk, in particular Delhis street children. As a guitar instructor, Adhir teaches instrument technique and music theory at Global Music Institute, a premier music school in New Delhi run by alumni of Berklee College of Music, Boston. He also teaches privately and can be contacted for the same.
