Lieutenant Governor to celebrate Canada Day at Queens Park


TORONTOOn July 1, the Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, will officially launch Canada Day celebrations at Queens Park in Toronto. At noon, His Honour will bring greetings on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen of Canada and deliver remarks on the south lawn. Following His Honours remarks, the Lieutenant Governors Suite will open its doors from 1pm to 4pm. Members of the public are invited to view art displays celebrating the Queens Diamond Jubilee and commemorating the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812. Access is available via the stairs or elevator on the west side of the legislative building. Of Canada Day, His Honour has said: Canada Day lets us celebrate all that is precious about this great land: our cherished freedoms, limitless opportunities, our natural beauty, and amazing diversity.
