FINANCIAL SERVICES AND SYSTEMS

Name of the Instructor: P Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Business Administration. Instruction period: 5 Periods per week Course Purpose: This is a minor elective subject in Finance stream. It requires the background of international finance. This course gives a birds eye view of global financial systems.

Course Structure: First unit introduces the student to the basic financial system and services thereto. Second unit elaborates into the concept of leasing and hire purchase. It includes problems using NPV and IRR approaches. Third unit talks about factoring and RBI guidelines and the recommendations of Kalyanasundaram Committee.
