New Forgery charges filed against Shamus Patton

Patton charged with six counts related to falsification of signatures for work release
(Indianapolis, Ind.) -- Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry announced today that new charges have been filed against Shamus Patton. Patton has been charged with six counts of Forgery (C Felony) for allegedly falsifying the signatures of business managers on work release documents. According to the probable cause affidavit, Patton was serving an executed sentence through the Indiana Department of Correction at a work release facility where inmates are allowed passes to leave the facility to search for employment. During June Patton signed out of the facility on passes during which he was to have submitted applications to businesses. He submitted Daily Employer Contact Sheets for each pass, which require signatures from a representative of each business contacted. Patton is accused of submitting the Contact Sheets with forged signatures from six businesses from June 10 through June 17. A charge of a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. -30Charging information and probable cause affidavit for the new case are available at: http://www.scribd.com/doc/150536427/New-charges-filed-against-Shamus-Patton
