Greg at the 24H of Barcelona

Great Challenge Great Expectations!
Forel, June 29th 2013. On July 6th & 7th, Greg will be racing at the 24H of Barcelona on the Suzuki #1 of the Suzuki Catal Team. He will be teaming up with Javier Del Amor, Gwen Giabbani and Victor Casas, with the ambitious aim to secure a second victory for the team after that of 2012.

Greg has been dreaming of taking part in this amazing race for several years now, but every time, the date clashed with the various races of the championships he was enrolled in. The Team National Motos 55 (Honda) not taking part in this completion, Greg was free to look for another team to participate in the race and he finally chose the Suzuki, winner not only of last years edition but also of 6 previous editions. A highly competitive team Greg will be going back to a combination he is well acquainted with, Suzuki-Dunlop, as it enabled him to win the 2009 Swiss Championship and finish on the podium of the 2010 24H of Le Mans. All that is left to do is for him to learn the racetrack during the test day. For this race, he will be partner in crime with Victor Casas, many times winner of this race, Gwen Giabbani, winner of the 2009 Endurance World Championship, and Javier Del Amor. The latter scored a point during his first Grand Prix in Barcelona two weeks ago when he replaced Aoyama in MotoGP. It makes no doubt the team has everyone it needs to hit some ground-breaking lap times on Barcelonas racetrack. An opportunity to strike gold ! Greg is therefore looking forward to this new challenge with quite a bit of confidence: Physically, Im on top form, and seeing my co-riders level of competitiveness, we really have an opportunity to strike gold, so I simply cannot wait to be there! My only little apprehension is about the number of riders: a team of 4 is new to me and, both mentally and physically, even if this will make a few smile, it will require that I find a new equilibrium so that I stay focused and on top of my game for the entire race. I nonetheless have no doubt that the teams professionalism and experience will help me deal with this. Besides I am quite sure that considering Barcelonas high temperatures in July, I will be rather pleased to have an extra 45 minutes between my stints to get rehydrated and relax
