After the clouds, the sunshine, after the winter, the spring, after the shower, the rainbow, for life is a changeable thing- Helen Steiner Rice I guess change is the only thing that one can count on in life. Im a person that likes things to stay the same so the last few months have been stressful but good. A lot has changed and is changing in my life and in my ministry this year and it is my joy and sorrow to share it with you.

Introducing Madelyn Jean and Triston Joseph (TJ) Stowell!

On May 20, 2013 over 2.5 years after their first night in our home, we adopted Madelyn (Rain) and Triston. This process has been long, bumpy, joyous and tiresome. We are overjoyed to finally call them ours. The next question is what is next? Do we continue to foster? How do we take what we have learned and continue to be advocates for vulnerable children and their families? We feel a calling to continue to do something but we havent sensed a direction yet. Continue to keep us in your prayers as we seek out what is next and continue to parent these children that God has blessed us with.

In other news!
Derrick is an official employee of the University of Tennessee. He is enjoying his new job as the garden educator and we are excited about the opportunities in front of him. Josiah survived first grade and is onto second! TJ will start kindergarten in the fall. We are all looking forward to what the new school year has in store. Madelyn and I are going to be spending more time together this fall while I am cutting back my days at Y-12 and her days at daycare. There are truly transitions happening in every corner of our lives.

Saying Goodbye!
In March at an InterVarsity staff meeting, I told my fellow staff goodbye. After 6 years of being on staff I have decided that it is time for me to end my time on InterVarsity staff. This has been a hard decision but the right one. Im disappointed that I will no longer call this wonderful ministry my employer but I am eager to find new places to use my skills. My official last day is June 30, 2013. If you wish to continue to support InterVarsity I encourage you to consider giving to the work at Maryville College. I want to thank all of you for all the encouragement, prayers and financial gifts over the last six years. I couldnt have done it without you!
