Aussie expats- The Temper Trap return to Stubbs Stage

June 05, 2012. By: Bere Belmares

Last time the Australian-born, London- based boys from Temper Trap were in Austin, they were playing to a packed house at Stubbs, one of the citys premier venues. They shared the stage with White Arrows, Girls, and Kaiser Chiefs during SXSW 2012s showcase on March 15th, unveiling new tracks from their sophomore release- a self-titled album which is released today across North America Amidst the whirlwind of their second albums first single release- Rabbit Hole , the band announced their last day at LAs Sound Factory Studios on February 9th and immediately began rehearsing back in London to start touring: these Aussies sure do like to work hard.

In spite of their hectic schedules, the boys didnt miss out on the chance to walk around downtown Austin and watch us all stand in line waiting for the free afternoon showcases during SXSW. They didnt skip out on the bar scene either- Dougy Mandagi (lead singer) and Lorenzo Sillitto (bass) were spotted at Blind Pigs Pub down at dirty Sixth having a few drinks before their next- day performance at Stubbs. The band will be playing at Manchester, TNs Bonaroo Festival, and at Dallas House of Blues before returning to take Stubbs stage again on June 11th. Watch this blossoming band ignite the crowd once again, while Mandagi croons over Trembling Hands, and the fans get sucked into their synth-led powerhouse pop tunes. For those of you who fell in love with the bands anthemic track, Sweet Disposition, you will not get disappointed with their second album; Temper Trap deliver us the melancholic ballad, with one of the hookiest chorus, Need Your Love. Last time Temper Trap won over Stubbs crowd. There is no reason to believe it will be any different this time.
