Activity Time
Vocabulary: Happy, sad, scared, angry, hot, cold, hungry, thirsty, sick, sleepy Sentence structure(s): Question: how are you? Response: I am happy/ Question: Are you happy/sad/angry? Response: I am (sad) Songs: If youre happy and you know it. Hokey Pokey Activities: Work sheets Identification Identify the different emotions on the picture and colour in. Fly swat Games Guess what I am Students will take turns coming up infront of the class and portray an emotion and the students have to guess what emotion they are. How are you The It person stands at the opposite end of the playing field from the other players, facing away from them. A call-and-response then takes place: all players except for the It person chant in unison "How are you?", and the it person will answer in one of the two ways I am happy/sad/tired
Phonics
Review
This week we will continue to focus on sounds s,a,n,t,i,p,c/k,e,h,r,m,d. MEP are getting a great grasp on these sounds and getting familiar with this new structure of learning. We will however continue to review all letters to keep the students memories fresh. We will do this by singing the Jolly Phonics songs and games like fishing, run and touch.
New (letters/sounds/vocabulary)
We had a lot of in school activities last week and no lessons on Friday so we will continue to review last weeks sounds c/k,e,h,r,m,d. If the students are ready we will move on to the sounds ggg,ooo,uuu,lll,fff,bbb. We will introduce these letters using the same jolly phonics songs but with new games to keep your childs phonics learning fun.
