PH-1 SELECTION DEVICE

TITLE
PH-1 SELECTION DEVICE

OBJECTIVES
1. Build the electrical and pneumatic circuit. 2. Check the layout of the circuit.

EQUIPMENT / APPARATUS
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 3/2 way solenoid valve or 5/2 way solenoid valve Service unit Single acting cylinder 3/2 sliding valve and manifold Electrical distribution plate Electrical input signal

EQUIPMENT / APPARATUS

Single acting cylinder

Electrical distribution plate

Service unit

3/2 sliding valve and manifold

3/2 way solenoid valve

Electrical input signal

Compressor

EXPERIMENT METHOD
1. Use a selection device for transferring work pieces from one conveyer belt to the other. 2. Used a single button switch to extract and retract the cylinder rod. The rejected work piece off the conveyer belt will move the cylinder. 3. The cylinder rod will retract to the original position when release the button.

OBSERVATION
From the experiment, our group has observed that when the pneumatic circuit is not proper connecting, the air in the system will go out and the system is leaking. When the system is leaking, there is no power of compress air in the system an it cant push out the acting cylinder so that, it cant be used. We also verified that when, the electrical circuit are not proper connect, the system will move backwards because the electrical circuit that control the solenoid valve is backwards.

CONCLUSION
From the experiment that we do, we can conclude the pneumatic system are use air for the mechanism. To start the circuit we must joint the host to the part follow the diagram gifted and joint the wire to the electrical distribution plate. Function for the electrical distribution plate is switch. The entire host that we joint must tight to avoid the licking. When the circuit has done, the air must put in the host. The air supply is from the compressor. Compressor is compressing the air to supply the circuit. Service unit valve must be on to allow the air through the host. The circuit will be start after the switch on.
