Labelling of Sunscreen Products With UVA Protection Claim: Colipa Recommendation N°21
Labelling of Sunscreen Products With UVA Protection Claim: Colipa Recommendation N°21
Whilst the overall sun protection factor is indicated in a standardized way as an SPF, currently UVA protection may be indicated in many different ways on sunscreen products, for example broad band protection, UVA protection. Progressively, the Cosmetics Industry will introduce a standardized way of indicating UVA protection as it is defined in a recent European Commission Recommendation* via a new logo. This will take time as labels for 2007 have already been printed. This does not mean that other products do not provide equivalent levels of UVA protection. For the moment keep on reading the full label.
