English + Dragon Boat Racing

This fast and exciting water sport is taking the UK by storm. Learn how to race a long, brightly coloured fibreglass boat, which holds up to 20 paddlers. You and your fellow paddlers will be steered by a helmsman and kept in time by a drummer beating a large drum.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT ON THIS COURSE? Fuse your English course, with an exciting and strenuous water-sport. The brightly painted fibre-glass boats are approximately 40ft long and decorated with a dragons head and tail. Each boat holds up to 20 paddlers sitting side-byside. There is a helm who steers the boat and the paddlers are kept in time by drummer who beats a large drum. Regattas are often held on multi-lane courses, which can result in very exciting (and very loud) racing. You will participate in three Dragon Boat training sessions. Sessions are held Thursday at 6:15pm or 6:30pm on the water and Sundays at 10:00. Sessions last for approximately 2 hours and can cater to all abilities.
