TOPIC: Industry Automation TITLE: Salt Pond Data Gatherer and Analyzer plus Automatic Flood Gate Control System

INTRODUCTION: Salinas IM Corporation is the top salt-producer in the Philippines. And as technology came rushing, Salinas IM Corporation is still on their traditional way of producing salt. The company tends to use manpower for the whole production such as harvesting of salt, processing and packaging. One part of the production that sacrifices a lot of time, manpower and money is the collecting and analyzing of pertinent data (salinity, water level, temperature) that is necessary in the production. The company owns a 500 hectares of salt pond that individually separated by manmade gates wherein the process of flooding of brine from one pond to another takes place. The said gates are manually operated by an individual that takes too much time. And due to the said circumstances, the group came up with an idea that can simplify the production with the use of engineering skills acquired. RATIONALE: The importance of this project is to automate all traditional ways of production of the Salinas IM Corporation. It aims to maximize the season allotted for salt harvesting and data gathering OBJECTIVE: General Objective: 1. To automate the salt production in the Philippines. Specific Objective 1. To provide Salinas IM Corporation an automated data gathering system and monitoring system. 2. To automate the flooding process and gate controls 3. To reduce workers activity.

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK:

Input: Sea water Data Process Control (Logical Approach) PLC and Arduino

Output: Rock-salt Iodized- salt Lamps, Relays, Motors and Solenoid Valves
