The New England Association of Schools and Colleges The Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis is an accredited, degreegranting school

offering advanced courses of study in the field of psychoanalysis. The school is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). The NEASC is an organization that provides accreditation for in excess of 2000 institutions within the six states of New England. The process used includes peer review, best practices and self-study. The NEASC was established in 1885, and is the oldest organization of its kind in the United States. Institutions renew their accreditation every 10 years; federal and state law requires a school be accredited so that students may receive financial aid, and research grants be made available for faculty. While comprehensive accreditation visits take place every 10 years, a written report is mandatory every five years. The NEASCs self-study provides a means by which an institution can measure its own quality, as well as criteria by which the organization may evaluate for the purpose of accreditation.
