#3 Triangular Trade

Triangular Trade was a shipping method used to move supplies from England to North American. The purpose was mercantilism. Raw materials were shipped from America to England and in return, England would sell finished products back to the colonists and everyone else. This ensured that trade only took place between the colonies than England. The trade route began to include Africa in order to ship slaves as well. Slaves were shipped to help the colonists with farming labor. Slavery was already an issue in Africa; however Britain saw it as a way to make a larger profit by selling slaves to the colonist as well. The portion of the journey used to transport slaves was known as the middle passage.
