Spelling Practice Notice

Dear Parent/Guardian, This letter is to inform you that your child has received 50% accuracy or less on the past 3 spelling tests. I would like to offer some strategies that may help your child perform better. Also, could you please return the slip below so I can better know how to help your child be successful in spelling. Some helpful strategies:
Take a practice test with a parent on Wed. and Thurs. and have them grade it. Divide each spelling word into syllables. Illustrate the words and write the spelling word under each picture. I Spy: Draw a picture and hide your words inside. Write your words as many times as there are syllables. Write your words in ABC order 3 times each. Write your words in order from shortest to longest and vice versa. Type each word 6 times each on a computer. Use the website www.puzzlemaker.com to create a word search using spelling words. Write the words that are difficult for you on index cards and hang them in a spot you will see them frequently.
