THE AMISH MIDWIFE IS NO. 1 BESTSELLER

EUGENE, ORApril 1, 2011Award-winning author Mindy Starns Clarks latest novel has reached the top spot on two Christian fiction bestseller lists. The Amish Midwife, cowritten with Leslie Gould, was released in February by Oregon-based Harvest House Publishers. Each month, the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) and the Christian Booksellers Association (CBA) release lists of the top-selling Christian books in the nation, and for the months of March and April, The Amish Midwife held the number-one spot on the ECPA and CBA list, respectively. Though Clarks books have appeared on these lists before, this is her first time at the top. The Amish Midwife tells the story of Lexie Jaeger, a nurse-midwife who travels from Oregon to Lancaster County to find the truth about her birth parents and her own identity. This is the first book in the WOMEN OF LANCASTER COUNTY series. The next book in the series, The Amish Nanny, will be released in July 2011. This is all so overwhelming, says Clark, referring to her bestselling status as well as the news that another of her books, Secrets of Harmony Grove, has been nominated for the ECPAs 2011 Christian Book Award.
