Murdale True Value supports Great Futures for Carbondale Youth

The Boys & Girls Club of Carbondale is pleased to announce the first honoree in their new Business of the Month Campaign. Murdale True Value has been a generous supporter and partner in collaborations that help BGCC, its members, and local families directly and indirectly in countless ways. Since 1976 Murdale True Value has been a dependable fixture in Carbondale. Known as a trusted source of supplies for any home improvement project, Murdale True Value also offers a number of other services. In addition to the nursery and Locksmith department, tools, construction equipment, and party supplies are available for rent. Owner George Sheffer holds a deep commitment to the community and supports a number of organizations. Every Spring and Fall he hosts a free Carnival with face painting, hayrides, and a variety of large inflatables games, with proceeds benefiting the Boys & Girls Club and other area nonprofits. We are a local business that takes pride in supporting a valuable organization like the Boys & Girls Club, said Sheffer. The BGCC is home to over 470 registered members ages 6-18 years, and sees an average of nearly 80 children a day afterschool and during the Summer. Members are exposed to programs in five core areas: Education and Career Development; Sports, Fitness and Recreation; Character and Leadership Development; Health and Life Skills; and The Arts.
