Bowl of R Records manifesto

Purpose
To establish a record label that is purely for the benefit of the member artists; a label where the artists retain most of the profits of their work with the remainder of profits going into a pool that will be used to improve and grow the label and where all member artists can draw funds from when needed, when available. Bowl of R Records will provide management, promotion, recording facilities, merchandising and distribution to member artists to assist them in maximising their talent and smoothing the path to turn their craft into their profession.

Goals
1. Create an ever expanding family of artists whom support each other while also being supported by the label. 2. Grow the label to the extent where funds can be amassed that all member artists will be able to draw from as a regular source of income aside from the profits already attained from their individual work.

3. Continually improve recording facilities for member artists with the ultimate goal of creating a Bowl of R House where a recording studio will be located and that will also serve as a habitat for artists when needed. 4. Operate as a non-profit business.

Structure
Bowl of R Records will recruit artists in the first instance but members will ultimately decide who joins the family through a democratic process. Conversely, if it is considered that a member should leave the label then all other members will make that decision through a democratic process too. All members will be regularly updated with the financial status of the label to ensure transparency as well as being provided with transparent cost and profit details of their individual work. Artists will be asked to agree contracts with Bowl of R records to ensure understanding of the standards and structure of the label but the contracts will not compromise the freedom of the artist, creatively or otherwise, and artists will be free to nullify the contract and leave the label whenever they wish without consequence; what a member artist puts into the label they will be able take out of it
