CALL TO ORDER - Meeting was called to order at 5:03 p.m. by Linda Robson. The subcommittee unanimously approved the minutes of the May 13,2013 meeting. The subcommittee discussed school bus transportation scenarios for SY2013-2014. The subcommittee recommends that students K-8 ride a single bus with door to door stops. However in areas where only middle school students reside a group stop would be appropriate. The development of a mentoring/buddy system will be investigated by Mrs. Zalmer to model positive behavior. Eight buses will be used to pick up high school students around town and then students will be transferred to 4 buses that will travel to East Lyme High School. The subcommittee has asked administration to investigate moving the time of the late bus from ELHS to better accommodate the students staying after school for activities. The subcommittee had a preliminary discussion of administrator roles and responsibilities. These roles need to be further defined and will be presented to the full board in July. A letter to parents addressing our wish to begin talks regarding a cooperative agreement with East Lyme BOE will be placed in the next Wednesday folder.
