Material Science Learning Intentions & Success Criteria

Instructions Tick the things you are able to do in levels 1, 2 and 3 for each learning intention. Level 1 is the simplest level with level 3 being the most complex level. Level 1 Unistructural and multistructural I can define an element using the particle model I can define a compound using the particle model I can define a mixture using the particle model I can interpret diagrams of elements and compounds I can describe the properties of metals I can describe the properties of nonmetals I can identify the chemical symbols of some common elements on the periodic table I can describe the signs of a chemical change

Level 3 Extended abstract

I can classify objects as metals or non-metals

I can distinguish between a chemical and a physical change

I can create a product that explains elements, compounds and mixtures to other high school students
