    In November 1922, British archaeologist Howard Carter discovered King Tut's intact tomb near Luxor, Egypt. Upon entering the burial chamber 23 days later, he found Tut's solid gold coffin and mummified body. Unlike other Egyptian tombs that had been looted, Tut's tomb remained untouched.
