Lexmarks Solution: ViewTrac / ViewPrint is a document accounting solution for tracking copy, print, email, fax and FTP assigning user profiles and quota restrictions to make better use of the Lexmark Multifunction workflow.

Overview The solution architecture divides the workload on the Multifunctional (embedded solutions) and Server (Service, Data Base and Administrator).

Through embedded solutions, transactions are recorded in the multifunctional allowing the use of resources according to the privileges of each user.

The service connects to the MFP and receives a summary of transactions updating the SQL Server Database.

The management module configures the groups and registered users. Access to historical records and generates reports that give the administrator an overview of the system.

How it works: To do Copy, Fax, Email, FTP each user must register, either with proximity card, PIN or password (domain or assigned password) so can have access to the basic choices of the MFP. For prints, the MFP receives each job and temporarily stores the print job data. The MFP connects to the service using a TCP / IP port. The service receives and decrypts the data packet sent with a summary of the transaction and updates the SQL database, which the administrator can access through the ViewTrac Manager.
