    Fiber optic temperature controller systems were successfully installed and commissioned on three transformers at the 2x600MW Mutiara Thermal Power Project in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu. Temperature readings were being displayed for six channels on two controllers, though one channel was displaying an error on one transformer, possibly due to an internal problem in the transformer. Training was provided to site personnel on the installation, settings and use of the new systems.

    Dated: 02/05/2013 FOS system Thermassset2( Sr no: F30976) on Transformer no: 1403701,Lumasmart(Sr no: LEC201000096) on Transformer no: 14037-02 & Lumasmart (Sr no: LEC201000095)on Transformer no:14037-03. Make: Lumasense has been successfully installed and commissioned on above mention Transformer: (R phase), (Y phase), (B phase) of Unit 1, Make: ABB Temperature reading at six channels is being successfully displayed over the Lumasmart & Thermasset2 display panel. Error is displayed on channel no 3 over Thermasset2 display panel, Instrument & FOS extension cables found ok, It may be some internal problem in transformer no: 14037-01 (R phase) that need to be check. All the details regarding installation & settings are given to the concerned person at the site during commissioning and product training has been carried out. Members present: Mr. Rajkumar, Commissioning Manager (for ABB LTD). Mr. Abdul Jaleel, Assistant Engineer (for CEPL).
