2. Monitor vital signs such as pulse rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation and color. These are observed and recorded.
6. Prevent the patient from falling by keeping the side rails up, never leave alone.
9. Relieve post operative pain or restlessness by providing analgesics and maintaining position.
12. Maintain side lying position to prevent aspiration after general anaesthesia.
13. Observe the operative site and record the amount and type of drainage.
15. Prepare the patient transfer from the recovery room to the post operative ward or general surgical unit, if the patient is stable, with the permission of anaesthesists, transfer the patient to the post operative ward. -Call or inform to postoperative nursing staffs to relieve the patient. -Transfer the patient from the recovery room to the post operative ward stretcher with the belt strapped to the patients body.
