Water Flow

Cross Filtration
Cross filtration works by limiting the size of particles that can leave an area surrounded by the filter. The filter runs in parallel with the flow of water, preventing particles larger than the holes in the filter from exiting out the sides. This effectively concentrates larger particles towards the rear of the filter chamber.

Details
Vertical shaft is thicker than the tines of the filter, and the leading edge is shaped to direct water towards the inside of the filter. The shafts are offset on the X and Z axis to ensure that the tines do not overlap, and to create a channel toward the rear. The shafts are attached to the craft with flexible joints, like a coated spring, that allow them to bend with the resistance of water. Movement through the water is generated via a sail attached to the floating robot. This will be detailed in later documents.
