From the starting line off Seaview Harbor beach, boats will proceed north up Risley's Channel, passing under the JFK Memorial Bridge, continuing north into Beach Thorofare to Intracostal Waterway channel marker 228 (red), 500 feet south of the first island. Boats will round ICW marker 220 in the counterclockwise direction (towards the mainland) and head back south to ICW 230 at the confluence of Beach Thorofare and Risley's Channel, passing the marker on the west (mainland) side and continuing south down Risley's Channel, under the JFK bridge, and back to the start/finish line. Low tide is at 6:05 a.m., and the wind is predicted to be in the northeast quadrant at about 10 knots, so we will have the tide with us and the wind against us going north and the opposite conditions heading south.
