Cruz (bilingual) or Colin Jones Phone: (805) 549-3138 or (805) 549-3189 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE EMERGENCY BRIDGE REPAIR TOMORROW ON HIGHWAY 1 NEAR THE FISHHOOK SANTA CRUZ COUNTY An emergency one-day repair of a damaged bridge rail will take place tomorrow, July 24 on northbound Hwy. 1 between Emeline Street and Hwy. 17 (the Fishhook), Caltrans officials have announced.

This roadwork will result in the closure of the northbound No. 1 (fast) lane between northbound Hwy. 1 at northbound Hwy. 17 (the Fishhook) from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. Motorists can expect a delay of 5-10 minutes.

The roadwork being done is for public safety after the bridge rail was damaged last week.

This project will be performed by the Caltrans Bridge Crew in Santa Cruz.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
