This asana is also known as Pranavasana or the phonetic sound for sacred syllable 'OM' Pose, and as Padma Viranchyasana.

This asana is also referred to as Omkarasana or "Om" Pose Pose, but it is not. Once the pose is lifted, it becomes "Om" as shown in the next pose.

This asana is often incorrectly called Viranchyasana II, but once it is lifted, it becomes Omkarasana. It is also called Pranavasana, where Pranava is the phonic sound for sacred syllable 'OM' (Om-Kaaram).
