NCPD News Release: Arrest For Bomb Threat at Numc
Third Squad detectives report the arrest of a Westbury man on July 24, 2013 at 10:30 pm in New Cassel. According to detectives, Victor Perez, 48, a homeless man from Westbury, on July 23, 2013 at 11:43 pm made an anonymous call from a Westbury pay phone to the Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow and stated that there was a bomb in the hospital. The call prompted a through search of the Medical Center, both inside and outside of the building, with no findings. A subsequent investigation by detectives led them to Perez, who on July 24, 2013 was located and placed under arrest without incident. The defendant is charged with Making a Terroristic Threat and will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 07/25/2013. Details by: Det. Lashinsky/3rd Squad
