2013 GUNS AND GRUB DANIEL GUERRERO FUNDRAISER

A close family friend of Jeff and Karen Hohenthal recently was wounded in combat serving our country in Afghanistan. We are creating a fundraiser for his family to help offset the cost of living expenses for their family while he is recovering in Texas over the next few months and to fly his kids to visit him in the hospital. Dans wife, Meagan, is currently with him helping with this recovery process while the children are staying with family in the Coeur D Alene area. This has been an eye opening experience for us as we have followed and sent our thoughts and prayers to their family. For me personally, this is the first time something of this nature has hit this close to home to me. The following is a statement from the family: Army Reservist Sargent Daniel Guerrero of Coeur dAlene is currently at a military hospital in San
Antonio, Texas. On May 23, a bullet tore through his right arm while taking enemy fire in Northern Afghanistan. Doctors had to replace the artery from his arm with veins from his leg, which has put Dan through multiple surgeries in addition to a skin graft. He is expected to make a full recovery but is expected to remain in the hospital and rehab for about 6 months. Daniel was serving for the 321st Engineer Company from Texas when injured. He received the honorable Purple Heart Award for his heroic efforts during battle. We will be hosting an event at Landt Farms Sporting Clays in Nine Mile Falls on September 28th of this year to help the family with expenses. It will be the first annual Guns and Grub event. My plan is to donate all proceeds to the family this year. If the event goes well I will be hosting another one next year for the local wounded warriors of the Inland Northwest, again with all proceeds going to the organization. Space is limited to 75 participants this year.
